- What are some of the ways Solomon’s governance or wisdom is displayed during these opening chapters? (List as many examples as you can.)
- If Solomon’s reign was characterized by wisdom, how could we characterize the reign of David? Saul?
- Solomon is the first king to have the kingdom “entrusted” to him by the previous king. Thus, Solomon’s rise to the throne is actually a lesson in succession. What lessons can we learn by observing the way Solomon ascended (succeeded) the throne?
